Grandma McKinney’s Sugar Cookies

This is a family favorite! I remember my grandmother and then my mom making these. They always bring back wonderful memories! I made these healthier swapping the “margarine” for butter and gluten free flour over the AP flour. Enjoy!

Ingredients

1.5 c. organic powdered sugar

1 c. grass fed butter

1 pastured raised egg

1 tsp. vanilla (or vanilla bean paste)

1/2 tsp. almond flavoring

2.5 c. King Arthur gluten free flour

1 tsp. soda

1 tsp. cream of tarter

Preheat over to 375. Mix butter and sugar then add the egg and flavorings. Slowly add in dry ingredients and refrigerate dough for 2-3 hours. Divide in 1/2 and roll 3/16” thick on floured surface. Cut with cookie cutters and place on parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until slightly golden brown. Frost with favorite frosting.
